The Clinic
The Dublin Psychoanalytic Clinic, located in a number of places around Dublin and throughout Ireland, is a reduced fee clinic which offers psychotherapy to those in need, irrespective of their financial circumstances. The fee is negotiated between the client and the psychotherapist and is based on a sliding scale in relation to ability to pay. We treat a wide range of clients in once or twice weekly psychotherapy. The Psychotherapists The Psychotherapists who work in the clinic are either experienced professionals or senior trainees who are completing their psychotherapy training. All trainees work under the supervision of the Institute's training staff. Psychotherapists work in the Clinic premises and also in their consulting rooms in various parts of Dublin and throughout Ireland. The clinical training is a major component of the Trinity College Dublin, M.Sc. in Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. The training course is organised by the Dept. of Psychiatry, University of Dublin, Trinity College, and the Irish Institute of Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy. How to contact the Clinic To get more information or to arrange an initial meeting, either phone the Clinic on 01 2722928 or email us. An initial meeting will be arranged with a member of the clinical team who will discuss psychotherapy and your requirements with you, before referring you to an appropriate psychotherapist. = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = = Psychoanalytic psychotherapy does not just treat the surface of personal problems. It endeavours to reach the underlying, often unconscious, source of a person's distress. In the reliable setting of the therapy a new and better understanding of long-standing difficulties can be achieved. Psychotherapy is not of fixed duration. |
